Open letter to Premier Blaine Higgs // Lettre ouverte au Premier ministre Blaine Higgs
Over 100 individuals and organizations have signed an open letter to Premier Blaine Higgs opposing his government's ban on migrant workers coming into New Brunswick under the guise of preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If Canadians can quarantine for fourteen days to minimize risk, so can migrant workers. Migrant workers deserve to be respected, not scapegoated. Migrant workers have a right to their livelihoods, to safe working conditions, to healthcare, to a living wage and to a pathway to permanent residence.
